I have been working with Scrum and with the scrum methodology for many years and in many organizations. I was the actually product owner in Scrum and XP from the Trenches.
- I have worked with introducing Scrum while creating an organization.
- I have worked with introducing scrum in organizations that doesn’t work with scrum.
- I have worked with improving the use of scrum in organizations that didn’t really get it right.
- I have worked with scrum in both very large projects and in maintenance situations.
My main industry has been online poker and gaming. This is a domain that has had significant use of agile methods as it has been the very expansive market in a fast changing domain. Of course, scrum is not only for gambling software, it can help improve all complex software development, and all models in this book can be directly applied to most other areas.
After his book, Henrik went on creating some well used pictures for modeling Scrum setups and on these pictures I can correctly identify myself as the product owner stick-man (It is my team). At a later stage I attended a presentation by Jeff Sutherland and he used the pictures too, which then might title me "the Original Product Owner in Scrum"
